Shonan Village Center was constructed as a conference center to
serve as the core
information center of the 21st century through scientific research.
It is located in the
central part of the Miura peninsula, the area known as the holiday
resort closest to Tokyo.
It is built on a hill commanding an excellent view of Mt. Fuji
and overlooking Sagami Bay.
It offers a combination of facilities for conferences, lodging
in a resort-like setting. We are
convinced that all participants will enjoy an agreeable stay and
good meals, and spend a fruitful
period both scientifically and socially.
The center is also close to Kamakura, a historically important
city which once served as an
ancient political capital of Japan, and Hakone, one of the most
popular spa resorts of Japan.
Participants will be offered the opportunity to visit and enjoy
these areas during the meeting.
Access
Shonan Village Center can be
reached within 90 min from Tokyo station and 150 min from Narita
New Tokyo International Airport.
Accommodation
All participants will stay in
rooms at the center and surrounding buildings. All meals are served
in the
dining room of the center.
Notice!
Farewell party (May 27)
and Closing session (May
28) will be held in a Hotel in Hakone
after moving
from Shonan Village.
