Call for papers

Submission of papers on all aspects of lectin research is strongly encouraged.
Some examples of fields are listed below (in random order).


Participants wishing to present papers are requested to submit an abstract
no later than
February 1, 2004.
The Website for submission will become available from November 1,
2003. Although you can notify your preference for either oral presentation or poster
presentation, we ask for your understanding that the number of oral presentations will be
limited.

IMPORTANT !
An abstract submitted by an author who has already completed registration
can be accepted.


Abstract Book of the Meeting
Accepted abstracts will be printed as supplements of an issue of TIGG (Trends in
Glycoscience and Glycotechnology), published by FCCA and the Japanese Society
of Carbohydrate Research, which will be distributed to the participants at the meeting.

Preparation of Abstracts
1. Abstracts must be in English.
2. Text should be no longer than 400 words.
3. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted.
4. Begin with your presentation title, authors' name (underline presenter)
  and institution. Insert a blank line. Then, begin the text.
5. Table/figures should not be included.

How to submit an Abstract
All authors are encouraged to submit abstracts via e-mail.

2. Read the "General Information" and complete the form.
3. Send your completed form according to the instructions.

Postal Mail Submission
1. Request an abstract submission form to the Secretary General.
2. Read the "General Information" and complete the form.
3. Send your completed form together with your abstract filed on a floppy disk (3.3 inches)
  or CD-ROM (ISO9960) to the Secretary General.
4. Abstracts submitted by FAX cannot be accepted.

Details for Presentation

Oral Presentation
Each speaker will be allocated 15-25 min including time for discussion. Projectors for PC and
slides will be provided. If you wish to use a PC, we recommend that you bring your own PC.
Nevertheless, you can bring your file saved on disk or a flash memory with USB connector. In
the latter case, however, there will be some risk of modification of your projected figures due
to differences between your hardware/software and those provided by us. We, therefore,
request that you install your file sufficiently in advance and check the quality of your figures
and correct them if necessary. OHP is also available.

Poster Presentation
The size of posters will be 90 x 120 cm. Poster discussion is scheduled in the evening of
May 25(Tue) or 26 (Wed)
, depending on the number. Authors are requested to be present
at their posters during the discussion time.
