Takako Kasai Memorial Travel Awards
for Young Investigators


This fund is set up in memory of Takako Kasai, the late wife of the chairman, who had
many friends among the participants of past Interlec meetings and was expected to play
the important role of hostess of Interlec 21.
The aim of the fund is to aid young active lectinologists from foreign countries who wish
to participate in the meeting and present a poster but have financial difficulty.
Registration fee and accommodation fee will be partly supported, and part of their travel
expense will be presented at the occasion of the farewell party. In order to qualify for the
award, the applicant must be 35 years old or younger, and the first author of an
abstract submitted for presentation at the meeting. Those who wish to apply are requested
to send the following documents by postal mail (not e-mail) to the address below
no later than Monday,
January 5, 2004.

1. Curriculum vitae (including date of birth, present position, and postal and
  e-mail addresses)
2. Abstract for presentation.
3. List of main publications.
4. Letter introducing yourself and explaining the difficult situation for
  participation.
5. Letter of recommendation signed by your scientific supervisor.
